Next time you drink Castle Light, you will be happy to know that you are not just drinking but also contributing towards saving energy and making the environment better. Castle Light has become one of the few brands that is now produced with renewable electricity. This is good news for South Africa as it practically reduces the load on the national grid further. As South Africa struggles with energy supply, businesses are getting off the grid and in the process of saving power.

“the goal is to switch all of ABInBev to 100% renewable electricity by 2025 and this is just the beginning,” said Castle Lite brand director Colleen Duvenage. She also pointed out that “we want to be part of the solution and not add to electricity challenges in South Africa”.

For consumers, this will mean that consumers will soon enjoy the cold brew without interruptions due to power cuts. Traders and partners who are selling Castle Lite will soon be assisted with solar solutions to enable them to operate even when there are power cuts. “Assisting traders and partners will form part of our second phase in this renewable journey” said Colleen Duvenage who was very positive about the impact of renewable energy within the Castle Light brand.

Castle Lite’s message is one of uninterrupted enjoyment, and how through using less electricity from the grid to brew their beer, there is more electricity available for us all to enjoy.
